CHICAGO, June 7 (Xinhua) -- The Wallet-Hub, a Washington DC-based website that offers free credit scores and full credit reports on a daily basis, recently puts Chicago at the 4th place on its 2017 Best Summer Vacation Spots list.
Wallet-Hub's data team has worked out the list after comparing more than 80 most popular U.S. vacation spots over 38 key indicators, including travel costs, attractions, activities and weather.
No doubt, with temperature rising, Chicago has shrugged off the cold and is embracing its best season in a year entering June.
The Buckingham Fountain begins to spray; the firework display in Navy Pier again begins to illuminate Chicago's night sky twice a week; free concerts and film festival will entertain visitors to Jay Pritzker Pavilion at the Millennium Park; the world famous Lollapalooza music festival will come back. These are the cultural side of Chicago.
There are other sides of Chicago as well. Taste of Chicago and various promotions offered by diversified restaurants in Chicago presented the food side; the buildings of different styles and different backgrounds are the architectural side.
Statistics provided by the City Government of Chicago show that a record 54.1 million people visited Chicago in 2016, up 2.9 percent from 2015.
