SKOPJE, June 6 (Xinhua) -- Macedonia's exports marked an increase of 12.7 percent year-on-year to 94 billion MKD (1.7 billion U.S. dollars) in the first four months of this year, while imports grew 11.2 percent to 129.3 billion MKD, the statistical office said Tuesday in a statement.

In April alone, Macedonian exports rose by 5.1 percent to 23.9 billion MKD, whereas imports rose 2 percent to 33.3 billion MKD.

Macedonia exports were mainly driven by ignition wiring sets and other wiring sets used in motor vehicles, aircraft or ships, as well as ferro-nickel and clothes.

The country imported platinum and platinum alloys, petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals, and electricity.

Data showed that Macedonia's main trading partners in the January-April period were Germany, Britain, Greece, Serbia and Bulgaria. (1 U.S. dollar = 54.76 MKD)
