GAZA, June 6 (Xinhua) -- Israeli soldiers stationed on the borders between southeast Gaza Strip and Israel on Tuesday opened fire and killed one Palestinian and wounded three others, medics said.

Ashraf al Qedra, Gaza health ministry spokesman told reporters that Fadi al-Najjar died of his wounds he sustained earlier Tuesday afternoon, adding that three other Palestinians were moderately injured.

Al-Najjar was critically wounded together with three others during clashes with Israeli soldiers stationed on the borderline area east of khuza'a village east of the city of Khan Younis in southern Gaza Strip.

Over the past two days, clashes between Palestinian stone throwers and Israeli soldiers close to the borders between Gaza Strip and Israel had escalated in protest to an ongoing Israeli blockade that Israel has been imposing on Gaza for ten years.
