TIRANA, June 5 (Xinhua) -- Albanian people should not sell their vote during the general elections on June 25, despite the money or favors that they may be offered, Romana Vlahutin, head of the European Union (EU) delegation to Albania, said Monday.

Speaking at a meeting with representatives of civil society in Shkodra, north Albania, the EU ambassador asked the citizens to denounce any pressure for their vote or any behavior that aims at changing their will.

"All citizens should be vigilant to any effort to abuse the process. Intimidation is completely unacceptable. Refuse all kinds of pressure that may be made to you or to your family members," local media quoted Vlahutin's appeal.

The EU ambassador guaranteed that there will be a careful monitoring from the international side.

"The realization of elections with standards is the main step towards Albania's integration into the European Union," Vlahutin highlighted.
