PRAGUE, June 2 (Xinhua) -- Czech Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka said on Twitter on Friday that U.S. President Donald Trump's decision to pull out of the Paris climate agreement was wrong and that it was a shame the United States had isolated itself on this issue of global importance.

Sobotka said Trump's decision would weaken the Paris accord, but would not destroy it. He said the climate agreement was "important for our children and for a safer future. We cannot reject it just for (the sake of) living more comfortably now."

He said the Czech Republic had experienced climate change, and people had the responsibility to do their utmost to make an improvement for the next generations. The Paris agreement was a good and reasonable way to do that, he said.
