RIGA, June 2 (Xinhua) -- United States President Donald Trump's decision to pull out of the Paris climate agreement will negatively impact financing for developing countries to fight climate change, the Latvian Environmental Protection and Regional Development Ministry said in a statement on Friday.

The ministry says it has a negative attitude towards Trump's decision to pull out of the agreement, however, emphasizing it will not influence Latvia's position on implementing the agreement. The ministry believes that all countries must contribute to fighting climate change, and it is not possible to ignore this.

Latvia ratified the Paris agreement in February 2017.

Trump on Thursday announced the withdrawal of the United States from the 2015 Paris agreement that he said is unfair to U.S. economy. He said he aims to negotiate a new global deal on climate change.
