LONDON, May 30 (Xinhua) -- British stocks dipped on Tuesday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index down by 0.28 percent, or 21.12 points, to close at 7,526.51 points.
The top gainer of the blue chips was British private equity and venture capital company 3i Group which soared 2.30 percent. Meanwhile, travel and tourism company TUI and pharmaceutical company GlaxoSmithKline increased by 1.97 percent and 1.79 percent, respectively.
The international private hospital group Mediclinic International was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 3.25 percent. The international biopharmaceutical company Shire dropped 3.19 percent. Old Mutual, an international investment and banking group, fell 2.70 percent. Enditem
