NEW DELHI, May 30 (Xinhua) -- One person was killed and four others wounded after unknown men hurled a crude bomb inside a medical store in India's northeastern state of Nagaland, police said Tuesday.
The blast took place Monday evening inside a medical store at Church road in Dimapur district, about 68 km west of Kohima, the capital city of Nagaland.
"Last evening some unknown persons hurled a bomb inside the shop selling medicines. The bomb exploded wounding three salesmen and two customers at the shop," a police official said. "Of the wounded, later on one succumbed to his wounds in hospital and remaining four and under treatment."
The killed person, according to police, had come to the shop to buy medicines.
Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation into the blast.
"We have started investigation into the blast to know the reasons and motive behind it," the police official said.
An armed insurgency is going on in Nagaland for more than 60 years with rebels fighting Indian troops for an independent homeland.
