Libyan undersecretary of interior condemns Manchester bombing, vows collaboration with Britain

TRIPOLI, May 25 (Xinhua) -- Libya's UN-backed Undersecretary of Interior, Abdossalam Ashour, condemned the Manchester bombing and all acts of terrorism targeting civilians in a press conference on Thursday.

Ashour stressed the importance of collaborations with Britain to find out the terrorist networks behind Monday's concert attack.

Ashour said that the Libyan Prime Minister Fayez al-Sarraj had offered assurances to his British counterpart Theresa May, emphasizing communication and coordination between the two countries in the fight against terrorism.

He announced that the special deterrent force is conducting investigations into the Manchester attack, adding that the Libyan security services are working with Britain on security coordination and ongoing investigations.

"Libya will not tolerate in the fight against terrorism and will stand firmly in support of efforts to eliminate it, both at the local or international levels," he added.

He called on the media not to make premature judgements before outcomes of the investigation are published.
