MACAO, May 24 (Xinhua) -- Residents of China's Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) are advised to be alert and vigilant towards own safety when planning to travel to or in Britain, the SAR's tourism emergency office said on Wednesday.

Tourism Crisis Management Office of Macao said in a latest statement that due to current security situation in Britain, it issued class one travel alert to those who plan to travel to or in this country.

The office said according to Macao travel agencies' feedback, there is no report on any Macao tourist group being affected by the blast that had killed at least 22 people Monday night. It added that it has not received any request for information or assistance from Macao residents for now.

The statement reminds Macao residents who require assistance to call the Tourism Hotline +853 28333000, or the Chinese Embassy and Consulate Generals to Britain.

They can also dial a 24-hour hotline +86 10 12308 set up by Chinese Foreign Ministry's global emergency call center for consular protection and services for Chinese nationals, the office said.

Tourism Crisis Management Office set up three classes of travel alert for its residents to consider safety measures. Class one is the start level, under which Belgium, France, Israel, Nepal, Tunisia and Britain are listed at the moment.
