RABAT, May 23 (Xinhua) -- The population of Morocco is expected to reach 43.6 million by 2050 compared to 33.8 million in 2014, revealed Morocco's statistics High Commission for Planning (HCP) on Tuesday.
Morocco's demographic growth will thus grow by 272,000 people annually, the HCP said in its latest population forecast issued on Tuesday.
This demographic growth will concern mainly urban areas, HCP noted, adding that by 2050, 73.6 percent of Moroccans will be living in cities compared to 60.3 percent currently.
Rural population will decrease from 13.4 million in 2014 to 11.5 million in 2050, the HCP added.
