Army candidates for delegates to 19th CPC National Congress confirmed

BEIJING, May 23 (Xinhua) -- The Central Military Commission has approved army and armed police candidates for delegates to the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC).

Among all candidates, Party leaders and cadres account for 62 percent, while the rest are grassroots Party members.

Over 72 percent of candidates are aged under 55 and 98 percent are honored with third-class or above merit citations. Some 99 percent of candidates have a college degree or above.

The 19th CPC National Congress is scheduled to convene in the latter half of this year.
