KHARTOUM, May 23 (Xinhua) -- Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir on Tuesday officially disclosed confiscation of Egyptian armored vehicles in a recent attack by Darfur rebel movements against areas in east and north of the region.

"The attacking forces set out from South Sudan and Libya, with Egyptian armored vehicles taking part. We have seized these armored vehicles and great number of military vehicles and machinery," said al-Bashir when addressing a celebration for pensioners of the Sudanese Armed Forces at the Defence Ministry headquarters Tuesday.

"We say with high voice that they are Egyptian armored vehicles," he said.

"...Egypt has never provided us with any support in 20 years of war in South Sudan...," he noted.

The Sudanese army said on Saturday that it repulsed two separate attacks by two armed groups in east and north of Darfur region, adding that the two groups moved simultaneously from Libya and South Sudan.

The Sudanese army has been fighting three armed groups in Darfur, the Justice and Equality Movement, the Sudan Liberation Movement and the Sudan Liberation Army.
