HO CHI MINH CITY, May 22 (Xinhua) -- Computers of four state agencies and organizations in Vietnam's Ho Chi Minh City have been infected with WannaCry ransomware over the past few days, the municipal Department of Information and Communications announced on Monday.

The affected entities include the municipal Department of Culture and Sports, the Fire Prevention and Fight Police Department, and the People's Committees of the two districts of Binh Chanh and No. 9.

The infected computer systems have been isolated and then cleaned.

Some 1,500 computers of state entities in Ho Chi Minh City, which are vulnerable to malicious codes, have been installed with security patches to prevent WannaCry intrusion.

Over 1,900 computers in Vietnam, including some 1,600 units of 243 organizations and enterprises, and around 300 others of individuals, were infected with the globally notorious ransomware, the country's leading security firm BKAV said last week.
