GENEVA, May 19 (Xinhua) -- The UN Special Envoy for Syria announced Friday that the latest round of Syria peace talks ended, and he will work to resume negotiations between warring factions "sometime in June."
UN envoy Staffan de Mistura told the press that not all of the "four baskets", namely governance, a new constitution, elections, and the war on terrorism, were addressed given the brevity of discussions which lasted only four days.
He did however stress that the establishment this week of expert meetings on legal and constitutional issues, to which both the Syrian government delegation and its major opposition counterpart agreed, could help push forward the political track in future negotiations.
