LONDON, May 18 (Xinhua) -- British stocks dropped on Thursday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index down by 0.89 percent, or 67.05 points, to close at 7,436.42 points.
Burberry Group, a British luxury fashion company, soared 4.69 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Centrica and Merlin Entertainments increased by 3.88 percent and 1.97 percent, respectively.
A major gold mining business Randgold Resources was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 2.61 percent. The oil and gas company Royal Dutch Shell B dropped 2.40 percent. Mondi, an international packaging and paper group, fell 2.27 percent. Enditem
