Iran beat Vietnam to qualify for beach handball WC

TEHRAN, May 15 (Xinhua) -- Iran defeated Vietnam 2-1 at the Asian Beach Handball Championship on Monday, confirming their spot at the 2018 IHF World Beach Handball Championship, Tehran Times daily reported.

The Iranians won by 15-10, 16-20, 8-6 in Pattaya, Thailand, in the third-place final.

Qatar beat Oman 2-0 to win the title for the fourth time in a row.

The 2018 IHF World Beach Handball Championship will be held in Sochi, Russia.
