TRIPOLI, May 15 (Xinhua) -- Libya's national antiquities authorities issued a list of national archaeological objects that have been smuggled out of the country, local media reported on Monday.
The list included a sandstone statue and a pharaonic statue made from Black basalt stolen from Tolmeita village in World War II.
Khalid Al-Hadar, director of the office of the anti-archaeological smuggling, said that the list will be circulated to concerned international organizations, including the International Center for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property (ICCROM), International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL), United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), as well as Italy's Carabinieri Art squad.
Al-Hadar said all Libyan embassies abroad will also have the list including statues and sculptures stolen during the Second World War.
