PARIS, May 12 (Xinhua) -- French president-elect Emmanuel Macron will appoint the prime minister on May 15, his party's chief Richard Ferrand said Friday.

Ferrand, the secretary-general of the ruling party "Republic on the move," told the news channel BFMTV that the prime minister will be named on Monday, but he did not give any details on the would-be chief of Macron's executive staff.

The upcoming prime minister will be charged with forming a cabinet, with which the French youngest top official looks to consolidate his receipt for a new governing way.

Expected to include novice faces and figures with different political views, the new government staff will face fragile economic growth, rising unemployment rate and high security risks.

The 39-year-old ex-economy minister beat National Front leader Marine Le Pen in the presidential runoff on May 7.

Macron will officially assume duties as French president on May 14.
