SYDNEY, May 12 (Xinhua) -- An unemployed Sydney man in his 30s has won a 50 million Australian dollar (36.93 million U.S. dollars) Powerball Lottery, drawn Thursday evening.

Wanting to remain anonymous, the man said in a statement, "It's life changing! I don't even know how many zeros are in $50 million."

"I'll share it with family and friends, if I'm winning, I want everybody along with me to win."

"I genuinely want to help people, so some sort of charity."

Although the Sydneysider may appear very lucky, former co-owner of Milestone Financial Services Darren Laudenbach told Xinhua, "If you're not good with money to begin with, winning the lottery probably isn't going to help you."

In fact, statistics from the National Endowment for Financial Education in the United States showed more than 70 percent of people who win the lottery are bankrupt within five years and often suffer relationship breakdowns with friends and family.

"I recommend that if you win the lottery, you seek professional advice," Laudenbach said.
