BEIJING, May 12 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake measuring 5.8 on the Richter scale jolted Kermadec Islands region at 00:46:52 GMT on Friday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 10.0 km, was initially determined to be at 27.4778 degrees south latitude and 176.8652 degrees west longitude.
