MOSCOW, May 11 (Xinhua) -- A Central Asian national was detained here Thursday for suspected links with a deadly bomb attack in the St. Petersburg metro last month, Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB) said in a statement.

FSB operatives held M.B. Ermatov for involvement in illegal trafficking of explosives and possible connections with Akbarzhon Dzhalilov, who detonated a bomb in the St. Petersburg metro on April 3, killing 14 people, including the perpetrator himself, and injuring over 50 others.

Ermatov is now under FSB investigation.

On April 17, Azimov Abror Akhralovich, a Central Asian native born in 1990, was caught in the Moscow region for possibly training Dzhalilov.

On April 6, six people in St. Petersburg and two others in Moscow were detained for suspected involvement in the metro attack.
