SOFIA, May 3 (Xinhua) -- Bulgaria's GERB party and the United Patriots on Wednesday reached an agreement on the composition of their coalition government that is to replace the caretaker cabinet led by interim Prime Minister Ognyan Gerdjikov.
"So far, it was only clear that Boyko Borissov, the chairman of GERB, the party that won the parliamentary elections, will be the prime minister of the new government," the United Patriots said in a statement.
The Patriots, which signed a coalition agreement with GERB last Thursday, said that two of their co-chairs, including Krasimir Karakachanov and Valeri Simeonov, were nominated for deputy prime ministers in the new cabinet.
Meanwhile, the press office of Bulgarian President Rumen Radev said that on Thursday morning, Borissov will present him his proposal for a structure and composition of the new government.
Radev will submit Borissov's proposal to the National Assembly immediately, and the legislators will vote for it the same day.
The center-right GERB party holds 95 seats in the 240-member parliament, and the United Patriots have 27.
To be approved by the National Assembly, the government needs a simple majority of more than half of the present legislators.
