Nasdaq posts record close after first round of French election

NEW YORK, April 24 (Xinhua) -- U.S. stocks closed sharply higher on Monday as investors cheered the results of the first round of French election, with Nasdaq hitting all-time high.

The Dow rose 1.05 percent, the S&P 500 added 1.08 percent, while the Nasdaq increased 1.24 percent.
