ISLAMABAD, April 3 (Xinhua) -- At least four people were killed and 16 others went missing when a boat capsized in Pakistan's south Naushahro Feroze district Monday morning, local Urdu media reported.

ARY News said that the boat was carrying laborers to the bank of Indus River when it capsized in Keti Bagian area in the southern province of Sindh.

The laborers were on their way to harvest wheat crop when the accident happened.

Rescue teams have recovered four bodies from the river while the search for the 16 missing people is underway.

Cause of the accident has not been determined yet.

This is the second boat capsize incident in the Indus River this year.

Earlier in February, seven people were killed when a boat carrying devotees sank in the river.

People living at the banks of Indus River frequently use boats as mode of transportation due to absence of proper road network and other traffic facilities.
