JAKARTA, Jan. 23 (Xinhua) -- Indonesian tourism ministry was scheduled to hold Tourism Table Top event of Singapore early next month, aimed at grabbing more visitors from the neighboring country, a senior official has said.

The upcoming event would highly facilitate Indonesian businessmen in selling their tourism packages with Singaporean counterparts, expected to contribute to the nation's efforts in welcoming 15 million visitors this year, Deputy Minister for Foreign Marketing I Gde Pitana said.

"Those Indonesian businessmen would get a Business to Business (B to B) forum with 50 potential buyers from Singapore," Pitana said in a statement on Saturday. The event was scheduled on February 7.

Indonesia, the largest nation in Southeast Asia region, is home to 1,340 ethnic groups staying in over 17,000 islands in its territory.

The ministry would bring 30 tourism package sellers from various provinces across the nation, including Aceh, North Sumatra, West Sumatra, Yogyakarta, East Java, West Java, Jakarta, West and East Nusa Tenggara and South Sulawesi.

Indonesia has set tourism sector as its core business. It targeted 20 million foreign visitors and over 24 billion U.S. dollars of earnings by 2019.

Indonesia now developed 10 new tour destinations across the nation to attract foreign visitors.
