SUVA, Dec. 6 (Xinhua) -- The Fijian government Tuesday said a U.S. citizen has been deported from Fiji after she breached the terms of her residency permit by yelling an obscenity at Fijian President Jioji Konrote.

Karen Seaton, who holds a Fiji residency permit, allegedly yelled and swore from the road last Wednesday while devotions were underway before the start of a local commercial event in Suva.

"This unprovoked use of the 'F word' directed towards Fiji's head of state cannot be tolerated and Karen Seaton was subsequently detained and escorted onto a plane bound for the U.S.," Fijian Director of Immigration Nemani Vuniwaqa said Tuesday.

Prior to the deportation, Seaton was declared a prohibited immigrant by Fijian authorities.
