JAKARTA, Nov. 7 (Xinhua) -- Investigators and rescuers have found the black box of a cargo plane that went down in the Papua province on Oct. 30, leaving all 4 crew dead, an investigator said on Monday.
The cockpit voice recorder of DHC4 Caribou cargo plane was recovered at the site where the crash occurred, on a slope of Papua's Jayawijaya mountain, Franswenas, a senior investigator at the national transport safety committee, said.
"The CVR of the cargo plane has been found," he told Xinhua by phone.
The wreckage of the plane was discovered two days after contact was lost on Oct. 30.
Extreme geographical and weather conditions have frequently triggered plane crashes in the Papua province.
A total of 54 people were killed in Trigana ATR 42-300 crash in the province last year.
