RIO DE JANEIRO, Nov. 2 (Xinhua) -- The collapse of a cave in northern Brazil killed at least 10 people during a religious celebration on Tuesday, local authorities said.
The accident occurred during a celebration of All Saints' Day in Santa Maria do Tocantins, Tocantins state, when at least 50 people were in the cave, local authorities reported.
According to local fire department, the victims, seven adults, one teenage girl and two children, have been identified. Three of them are from Santa Maria do Tocantins and the others are from nearby towns.
Seven injured people were taken to hospitals. The authorities did not reveal the extent of their injuries.
The government of Tocantins state declared a three-day official mourning period over the accident.
