SYDNEY, Aug. 3 (Xinhua)-- Australian authorities have issued a slew of flood warnings and beach closures as the wild weather worsens and hits several parts of Queensland and New South Wales region, media reports said on Wednesday.

The severe weather warning comes a day after dozens of people were rescued after being trapped in their vehicles by heavy snow, west of the Blue Mountains, near Sydney on Tuesday evening.

Australia's weather bureau has issued multiple flood warnings around New South Wales (NSW) state inland river catchments near Bathurst, port city Newcastle and Coffs Harbour on the mid-north coast. Authorities are pleading with motorists to head the warnings following deaths three deaths in June.

The bureau's offshore weather warnings have caused beaches along Australia's eastern coastline between Sydney and Queensland state's Gold Coast tourist strip to be closed.

However, the wild weather is not expected to last long as the Australian Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) said conditions will ease by late Thursday.
