LONDON, July 15 (Xinhua) -- At least one Briton was injured in the attack of Nice on Thursday night, British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson said Friday.

New British Prime Minister Theresa May was being kept up to date on "this terrible incident," who was "shocked and concerned," Downing Street said.

The Foreign Office said it is "standing by" to help Britons in the French city of Nice, urging Britons in the Nice area to follow the instructions of the French authorities.

At 22:30 (2030 GMT) Thursday night local time, a truck drove at high speed into a crowd who gathered on the promenade in Nice, France, to watch a fireworks show marking the French national day.

The attack killed at least 84 people and injured many.
