Jiangsu beat Chinese Army for third consecutive win

BEIJING, June 11 (Xinhua) -- Jiangsu beat Chinese Army 1-0 in the 9th round of the Chinese Women's Super League (CWSL) on Saturday, gaining the third consecutive win with the identical score.

Jiangsu striker Xu Yanlu headed in the sole goal of the match at the 37th minute. With the win, Jiangsu climbed up to the third position of the table.

Former Chinese international Liu Ying, head coach of Beijing, received her best birthday gift as her team beat Changchun 1-0 thanks to an injury time goal from Zhang Chen.

In other matches, the defending champions Shanghai were held 0-0 by Dalian, and Tianjin tied Shandong 0-0.

After nine rounds of CWSL, Shanghai remained on top of the table, followed by Dalian and Jiangsu, and Changchun fell to the fourth place.

The league will enter a break to make ways for the Chinese national team to prepare for the Rio Olympic Games.

The tenth round will kick off on September 4th.
