LIMA, June 5 (Xinhua) -- Peru's presidential contenders were in a dead heat, according to exit polls following runoff elections on Sunday.

Keiko Fujimori, of the Popular Force (FP) party, who won the first round on April 10 with just under 40 percent of the votes, was trailing in second place, said pollsters GFK and IPSOS, giving her 48.8 and 49.6 percent of the votes, respectively.

Meanwhile, Pedro Kuczynski, of the Peruvians for Change (PPK) party, who came in second in April with 21 percent of the votes, was leading with 51.2 and 50.4 percent, said the pollsters.

However, pollster CPI gave Fujimori the lead, with 51.1 percent to Kuczynski's 48.9.
