MADRID, Dec. 20 (Xinhuanet) -- Barcelona soccer club won its 13th consecutive game of the season, beating Celta Vigo 2-0 on Tuesday, and extended its lead at the top of the league table to five points, thanks to two goals from Cameroon-born striker Samuel Eto'o.

The 38th and 57th minutes were graced by goals by Eto'o, who came third in the International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA) World Player of the Year competition. Teammate Ronaldo de Assis, known as Ronaldinho, won first prize.

It was Eto'o's 50th goal since joinging Barcelona.

The victory, during the last game of 2005, sets a club record winning streak of 13 games.

The team, managed by Frank Rijkaard, has 40 points from 17 games.

Second in the league Osasuna has 35 points. Four teams share third place with 29 points: Real Madrid, Villareal, Deportivo La Coruna and Valencia.
