From November 3 to 7, 2015, the Peace Ark carried out five-day friendship visit to the U.S. west coast city of San Diego.
On November, the Peace Ark arrived on its first visit to San Diego. At the time, Chinese navy training vessel Zhenghe had just finished a visit to Hawaii, and the 152 Fleet was visiting U.S. Naval Station Mayport on the east coast.
In the evening, representatives of the U.S. Navy threw a party at Naval Base Point Loma to welcome the crew of the Peace Ark.
In 2014’s Rim of the Pacific Exercise, the Peace Ark and the Mercy had conducted about 20 dialogues on medical exchanges, joint rescue and clinical services.
On November 5, 120 medical, command, political, logistics and equipment management personnel went aboard the Mercy to see the design and structure of the ship, clinical services, and its personnel and equipment management practices.
The Chinese crew and medical personnel visited outpatient, operation and inpatient sections. The U.S. medical personnel on the ship answered all questions patiently.
