KUNMING, May 4 (ChinaMil) -- Two IL-76 transport planes with on board a 60-member anti-chemical team from the PLA's 14th Group Army left Kunming city of southwest China's Yunnan province for Kathmandu, capital city of Nepal, at about 11:00 on May 3, 2015.
It is the first Chinese anti-chemical and anti-epidemic team to Nepal, and in the following days, the 60 team members will carry out anti-epidemic and disinfection operations at the ruins of the earthquake-hit areas and settlements.
The other important mission of the team is to detect and then transfer dangerous chemical products from special places including chemical plants, scientific research establishments, laboratories and hospitals.
The team has participated in anti-chemical operations in quake-hit zones in China for times.
