BEIJING, January 16 (ChinaMil) -- The 15th China-Germany national defense ministry dialogue was held in Beijing on January 15, 2013.
Guan Youfei, director general of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Ministry of National Defense (MND) of the People's Republic of China (PRC) made a briefing after the dialogue was concluded.
According to Guan Youfei, both the Chinese side and the German side had a candid and in-depth exchange of opinions in respect to the exchange and cooperation of the two militaries, the international and regional situations and so forth, having achieved multiple consensuses.
In speaking of the current regional hot spots, the Chinese side expressed that Germany thoroughly exposed and criticized Fascism and sincerely apologized to those victimized countries after the World War II, which won forgiveness and trust from the international society, especially from the neighboring countries, as well as the chance for its own peaceful development.
In sharp contrast, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe insisted on worshiping the Yasukuni Shrine, which hosts Class-A war criminals of the World War II, refusing to make demarcation from its previous history of invasion into other countries. Meanwhile, Abe's administration is devoted to speeding up its arms expansion and promoting the revision of the Pacifist Constitution.
All these moves made by Japan will inevitably arouse high vigilance and strong criticism from all peace-loving people in the world, including those from neighboring countries. Only through deep reflection on history can the Japanese government gain trust from the neighboring countries in Asia and from the international society.
Having understanding of China's position, the Germany side expressed that for Germany, the historical lesson is painfully learned. Germany has paid great efforts through deep reflection and has thus earned the trust from the international society.
