NEW YORK, Nov. 16 (Xinhua) -- Four teenagers, including one exchange student from China, were killed in a car accident in northern New York, U.S. on Tuesday, New York State police said on Wednesday.
The accident occurred in the rural town of Peru, south of Plattsburgh at about 5 p.m. when two teenagers traveling in the car hit two Asian exchange students walking along a rural road. The car then crashed and caught fire, all four died at the scene.
Police said that the 18-year-old Chinese student and the 17- year-old Vietnamese student, both killed in the accident, were exchange students at Seton Catholic School in Plattsburgh, a city about 20 miles from the Canadian border.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
