Angola, Serbia agree to strengthen cooperation   2011-11-15 08:52:04 FeedbackPrintRSS

LUANDA, Nov. 14 (Xinhua) -- Angola and Serbia agreed on Monday to usher in a new era of cooperation between the two countries, Angolan Foreign Minister Georges Chikoty announced here on Monday.

Speaking to reporters after meeting with his visiting Serbian counterpart Vuc Jeremic, Georges Chikoty said Serbia and Angola enjoyed a great deal of cooperation in various fields, including education, infrastructure construction and defense.

Georges Chikoty said that during the meeting Serbia proposed four agreements for signing and Angola proposed one draft proposal, including reciprocal protection of investment, cooperation between the ministries of foreign affairs, scientific cooperation and a number of business opportunities between the two countries.

Vuc Jeremic, in Angola for two-day visit, described Angola as a friendly country, and stressed that Serbia has always given support to Angola on all international forums and also received support from the African country.

The Serbian minister said his country was keen on collaborate with Angola in areas as economy, technology exchange, agriculture and industry.
