BAGHDAD, Aug. 24 (Xinhua) -- Six policemen were killed and another eight people injured in a suicide car bombing in central Iraq's Ramadi city late Wednesday, a police source said.
The source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity that the suicide car bomber targeted a police checkpoint in Ramadi, some 100 km west of Baghdad.
The eight injured included six policemen and two civilians.
Security forces cordoned off the scene and investigations were underway, said the source.
Ramadi, the capital city of Anbar province, has seen an increase of violence recently.
