GAZA, Jan. 20 (Xinhua) -- Israeli forces arrested 15 Palestinians in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip early Thursday, including four fishermen, witnesses and security sources said.
Eleven Palestinians were detained in Israeli raids in different parts of the West Bank, the Palestinian security said, adding eight of the arrested were seized in southern town of Hebron.
Israel said the arrests target activists wanted by its intelligence services for planning or taking part in attacks against the Israeli army and Jewish settlers in the West Bank.
The Israeli raids take place on a daily basis, frustrating the Palestinian National Authority which controls the West Bank.
Meanwhile, Israeli naval forces detained four fishermen off southern Gaza Strip's shore, sources from Gaza's Hamas movement said. A gunboat towed the fishing boat after the four were detained.
The Israeli navy monitors Gaza coast and prevents Palestinian boats from sailing beyond two nautical miles for fear of what it said "arms smuggling".
