TEHRAN, Dec. 14 (Xinhua) -- The nuclear policies of Iran would not change after the replacement of former Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki, Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said Tuesday.

Mottaki was dismissed by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Monday and was temporarily replaced by head of Atomic Energy Organization of Iran Ali-Akbar Salehi, who is also Iran's vice president.

After the replacement of the Iranian foreign minister, "neither nuclear policies nor the framework of the (nuclear) talks will change," said the spokesman in his weekly press briefing.

The major policies of the country have a pre-defined framework and principles, and the replacement of a foreign minister will bring no change to those policies, he said, referring to the country's nuclear program.

Asked about the next round of the talks between Iran and the five UN Security Council permanent members plus Germany (G5+1) after the current developments, he said that the atmosphere of the talks should bear "no pressure (by) and no illogical behavior" of the western side, and if such a condition is met the talks will follow its own course.

Iran will talk with G5+1 to cooperate on the common grounds agreed by the sides, said the spokesman.

The two-day talks between Iran and the six major powers on Iran 's nuclear program ended on Dec. 7, with both sides agreeing to meet again in late January in Turkey's largest city of Istanbul.
