ISLAMABAD, Sept. 29 (Xinhua) -- At least four people were killed in a U.S. drone strike launched Wednesday night in Pakistan 's northwest tribal area of North Waziristan, reported local media.
According to the report, the U.S. drone fired two missiles at a vehicle in the Mada Khel village of North Waziristan which borders Afghanistan. North Waziristan is believed to be a stronhold of militants in Pakistan.
No further details are immediately available.
Wednesday's U.S. drone strike is reportedly the 23rd of its kind launched in September during which a few targeted militant leaders including an Al-Qaeda top leader in Pakistan have reportedly been killed though at the cost of quite many innocent lives.
