JERUSALEM, Aug. 22 (Xinhua) -- Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Sunday that any peace deal with the Palestinians should have three-level bases including the recognition of Israel as a "Jewish people's state" and the establishment of a "demilitarized Palestinian state."
The peace will be based on three main levels, including "real security arrangements in the State of Israel", "recognizing Israel as the Jewish people's state" and "the establishment of the Palestinian state requires that it be demilitarized," local news service Ynet quoted the premier as saying at the weekly cabinet meeting.
"An agreement means ending the conflict. If these three layers exist, peace can be achieved," he added.
"Achieving peace is possible, but difficult," he said. "We can surprise all the doubters."
His remarks came as both Israel and the Palestinians have accepted a United States invitation to re-launch the direct peace talks.
U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton announced on Friday that the U.S. has invited the Israeli and Palestinian leaders to launch Middle East peace direct talks on Sept. 2 in Washington. She said the peace negotiations can be completed within one year, and the talks should start without precondition.
