RAMADI, Iraq, Aug. 19 (Xinhua) -- Three policemen were killed and two others wounded in two bomb explosions targeting the Iraqi police in Anbar province on Thursday, a provincial police source said.

Two policemen were killed and two others wounded when a roadside bomb went off near their patrol in al-Ta'mim neighborhood in western part of the provincial capital city of Ramadi, some 110 km west of Baghdad, a source from the operations command told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.

In a separate incident, a sticky bomb attached to a civilian car belonging to an off-duty policeman detonated in the afternoon in the city of Fallujah, some 50 km west of Baghdad, killing him and destroying his car, the source said.

Violence are still common in Iraq as the U.S. is withdrawing its combat troops from the country as planned.
