Expert urges Ghanaian banks to finance export

He said the stagnation was partly due to the decline in the country's export prospects in pineapples as the global market shad shifted from MD 2 type of pineapple while Ghana was stack with smooth keyen.

Out of the 10 billion dollar global trade figure in pineapple, Ghana only enjoyed a negligible fraction, he said, adding that Ghana should work harder to secure at least 10 percent of the trading figures.

Mawuli believed that if financial support were available exporters could go into larger volumes of fruit processing and drying, currently at very low levels.
