At Least 4 killed in Honduras rains

TEGUCIGALPA, July 13 (Xinhua) -- At least four people were killed and another injured as a result of the torrential rains that continued for more than one week, authorities said Tuesday.

Honduran Permanent Emergency Commission (Copeco) said a 15-year-old boy named Cristhian Galvez was killed, and his 11-year-old brother Christopher Galvez injured when their house partially collapsed in the capital city Tegucigalpa on Monday.

Three people died Monday while trying to cross rain-swollen streams or rivers in different locations of Honduras.

Authorities also confirmed another three people died in various parts of the country after being hit by lightning last week.

The country's highest rainfall reached an accumulated 40 mm.
