JERUSALEM, June 2 (Xinhua) -- A senior Israeli official on Wednesday said the decision-making process in Israeli attack on the international aid flotilla bound to Gaza was faulty.

"The entire decision-making process in this affair was faulty," a member of the cabinet's seven-minister cabinet was quoted by local daily Yedioth Ahronoth as saying.

"The prime minister decided to deliberate on this matter with the defense minister, thus no serious discussion was held by the cabinet," said the minister who spoke on condition of anonymity.

An important consultative body, the seven-minister cabinet consists of seven senior Israeli ministers, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Defense Minister Ehud Barak and Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman.

While Israeli public relations professionals are working overtime in attempt to calm the international outrage over the raid that ended with the deaths of nine civilians, senior Israeli ministers are harshly criticizing the deliberation process that led to the approval of the operation.

According to the report, the minister claimed Netanyahu and Barak prevented "any sort of serious discussion" of Israel's planned response to stop the aid flotilla from reaching Gaza coast.
