BAGHDAD, June 2 (Xinhua) -- Three Iraqis were killed and five others injured in attacks in Baghdad and northern Nineveh province on Wednesday, the police said.
A civilian was killed and three others were wounded in a roadside bomb explosion near a police patrol in Abu Ghraib area, 20 km west of Baghdad, an Interior Ministry source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.
The blast apparently missed the police vehicles and hit civilian bystanders, the source said.
In separate incident in the Iraqi capital, two people were wounded when a roadside bomb detonated near a grocery shop in the southern neighborhood of Doura, the source added.
In northern Iraq, the body of an Iraqi soldier who was kidnapped late Tuesday night in eastern Mosul, some 400 km north of Baghdad, was found by the Iraqi police on Wednesday, a local police source said.
The victim had his throat cut and was found almost at the same place where he was kidnapped, the source said.
Iraqi security forces sealed the area and searched many shops and houses, arresting undetermined number of suspects for interrogation, he added.
