Israel defends attacks against international aid flotilla

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, currently in Canada, said he is closely monitoring the events, and is considering cutting his trip short. Netanyahu is slated to meet with U.S. President Barack Obama on Tuesday.

The international aid convoy to Gaza, aiming to focus world attention on the plight of the Gazans, consists of more than 10, 000 tons of aid, stationery, medical supplies and construction materials as well as hundreds of self-declared peace activists from over 40 countries.
